Description of the Albatross Control System®

How does it work?

Albatross Control System® has been designed to control the different parameters of the boat automatization and control functions to guarantee the maximum comfort on board and security in navigation.

All the sensors and instrumentation on board (albeit medium length sailing boats or mega-yachts) communicate over a single network. Large amounts of data are stored and moved between applications. This monitored data may be stored in a central location and passed over the network to be viewed at different stations. For example engine parameters would be derived at the engine and distributed over a single cable to multiple stations (NMEA 2000® compatible displays or Albatross On Board software).

Albatross Control System ® interconnects marine electronic equipment under a single network and standardized. This network acts as a trunk axle or bus joined for transmission, reception and processing of the information from the devices and provide guaranteed real-time priority scheme which allows critical data to get to its destination without competition from less critical data. It is a kind of Ethernet network on board.

The whole system is based on the NMEA2000® standard which guarantees the compatibility and integration of equipment of different manufacturers certified under this standard. It is a " Plug-and -play" system which functionally is modular, flexible and rapidly expandable.

Its installation principle is the efficiency of cost and the capacity to integrate in an intuitive form new device controls and management of the boat, without the need to transform or modify the base of the installation.

Rapidly, a considerable saving and rationalization in the wiring diagrams is perceived, as much as, considerable simplicity in the installation.
