Hardware components

It includes all the elements which form the trunk system for the acquisition of the analog and digital data from the bus. It also includes the communication devices which provide the remote functions.The HW components, which the Albatross Control System® give, group up in the following product families:

1. NMEA 2000 analog to digital converters

They are Analog-Digital converters, programmable and configurables from the Albatross Software management and control to provide the information from the analog sensors to the NMEA2000® network bus in accordance to the NMEA2000® codification.

2. Analog Sensors

They are specialized elements for the acquisition of analog data of diverse devices of the vessel. The range of the analog sensors is very wide and varied. There are two basic types: resistive sensors and pressure sensors. They are used to measure, monitor information, fluid levels, fluid control, pressure, temperatures, ...They provide electrical magnitude to the to the NMEA2000® analog to digital converters (voltage, resistance, intensity) for its conversion to a digital format in accordance to the codification and type of NMEA200® data.

3. NMEA2000® Active Sensors

They are specialized equipment which include electronics which can directly connect with the NMEA2000® BUS for the transmission and reception of certain types of information of the vessel, for example: weather conditions, GPS, compasses, engine parameters, level parameters,... The denomination "Active" means that it includes electronics.

4 . NMEA2000® Cables and accessories

It consists of a set of wiring, connectors and accessories (power supply elements, multiplexes, BUS hubs...) which are necessary for the design of the NMEA2000® physical network (central trunk axle and ramifications). NMEA 2000® standard has been designed to be reliable an eliminate traditional trouble spots like wiring harnesses. A single cable is needed for connect the different electronic devices. The cabling system is screw-threaded and waterproof so that there are no more accidental disconnects or corroded connections.
